Wisconsin lawmakers overwhelmingly passed a resolution denouncing Hamas’s recent assault on Israel, with only a few notable exceptions.
Notably, three State Representatives from the Milwaukee area refrained from casting their votes in the matter.
State Representatives Ryan Clancy, Darrin Madison, and LaKeisha Myers abstained from taking a stance on the resolution, which expressed support for Israel and condemned what it described as ‘barbaric attacks’ by Hamas.
It is worth mentioning that Madison and Clancy both identify as socialists, while Myers is affiliated with the Democratic party.
Madison justified his decision not to vote by pointing out that the resolution did not include a call for an end to the occupation of Palestine.
Clancy, on the other hand, abstained because he believed the resolution overly emphasized an unwavering commitment to Israel’s sovereignty.
Meanwhile, Myers took to Twitter to suggest that Israel might have also been involved in acts that could be considered as terrorism.
