Manitowoc County is collecting unused medications.
The County’s Drug Disposal Program is running now through October 28th with five drop box locations.
The goal of the program is to help prevent drug abuse or children accidentally ingesting potentially harmful drugs and to help keep the water supply clean.
There are permanent drop boxes located at the Sheriff’s Office and at the Manitowoc, Two Rivers, Kiel, and Mishicot Police Department buildings.
There are several items that should not be dropped into the collection bins, including needles, syringes, chemical waste, empty pill bottles, and personal care products just to name a few.
