A trial is impending for a Franklin woman accused of allegedly poisoning her friend with eye drops.
Jessy Kurczewski, aged 37, is set to face charges of first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of felony theft at the end of this month.
Initially, Kurczewski informed the police that her friend’s demise in 2018 was either an accident or a result of a drug overdose.
However, investigators found inconsistencies in her account, and a subsequent autopsy revealed that her friend had a lethal concentration of tetrahydrozoline, the primary component in eye drops, in her bloodstream.
Prosecutors further allege that Kurczewski embezzled $130,000 from her friend by transferring the funds into her own account.
