A Manitowoc family’s cat has died after being attacked by a pair of dogs.
According to Manitowoc Police Captain John Musial, the incident occurred in the backyard of a residence in the 1200 block of South 17th Street at around 5:30 Tuesday (October 10th) afternoon.
A witness reported seeing one of the dogs attacking his relative’s cat in the backyard of the residence.
The unnamed individual went to help the cat and was able to pick it up before the dog attacked them.
The person defended themselves, causing both dogs to flee.
The cat was taken to a local medical facility where it had to be euthanized due to the injuries sustained.
Police were initially asking for help identifying the owner or owners of the canines, but they have been identified and contacted.
