Chippewa County Sheriff Travis Hakes will be provided with an opportunity to address the ongoing investigation into his conduct.
He is scheduled to speak before the County Board during tonight’s meeting.
The county is currently in the process of reviewing the investigation, which centered on allegations that Sheriff Hakes shared sexually-themed memes with a 911 dispatcher and exhibited erratic behavior while on duty.
Sheriff Hakes has consistently asserted that the investigation is politically motivated and firmly maintains his innocence, stating that he has not committed any wrongdoing.
Whether he will testify during tonight’s meeting remains uncertain at this time.
