Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation is issuing a cautionary advisory regarding the approaching shorter days.
Tim Carnahan, the Superintendent of Wis-DOT, has pointed out that as daylight diminishes, the morning and evening commutes are expected to pose greater challenges for drivers.
Although only a quarter of all driving occurs at night, it’s alarming that half of all fatal accidents transpire during nighttime hours, according to Wis-DOT’s data.
Additionally, Wis-DOT is urging drivers to be vigilant about deer.
This time of year sees an increased presence of deer during the twilight hours of dusk and dawn, heightening the risk of potential collisions with these animals.
