Betty Lou Jacobs, age 87, of Manitowoc passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center listening to Elvis with Kevin and Kathy at her side.
Betty Lou was born November 24, 1935, in Newton, daughter of the late Oscar and Viola (Otto) Stock. She attended schools in Manitowoc graduating with the class of 1955 from Lincoln High School. On June 10, 1967, she married Howard C. Jacobs in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1993. Betty Lou enjoyed listening to Elvis’s music, playing sheepshead, and planting and caring for her flowers. She also enjoyed lunch every Sunday at The Galley with Kevin, breakfast every Monday at Perkins with Kathy and birthday get-togethers with Rita and Kay at Green Street. Betty also liked watching As the World Turns, Lawerence Welk on Saturday evenings and making cookies and bread for Christmas.
Betty Lou is survived by two children: Kathy S. Jacobs, Manitowoc, Kevin H. Jacobs, Green Bay; one niece: Corrine Duffek, Two Rivers; and one nephew: Dennis Stock, Sun Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Viola Stock; her husband: Howard C. Jacobs; one son: Kurt E. Schuricht; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold (Esther) Stock, Earl (June) Stock; and one nephew: Terry Stock.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Peace United Church of Christ/ Lakeshore Life Celebration Center (3613 Waldo Blvd.) Manitowoc. Rev. Matt Sauer will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
