Wisconsin’s Governor, Tony Evers, emphasized the importance of child care during his visit to Eau Claire yesterday.
Governor Evers remains steadfast in his call for lawmakers to allocate over $350 million to sustain childcare subsidies that were initially funded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
These subsidies had been provided by the federal government, but the governor now urges the state to take responsibility for this funding.
Governor Evers warned that without swift action from the legislature, several daycare facilities might face closure, potentially leaving numerous families with limited or no child care options.
