Employees of UW-Madison are set to stage a work stoppage in a show of solidarity with their counterparts at UW-Oshkosh.
The primary aim of this action is to convey a strong message concerning the proposed budget cuts facing the Oshkosh campus.
It’s worth noting that organizers intend to make their point without disrupting the regular operations of the Madison campus.
UW-Oshkosh has been grappling with the challenging task of addressing a substantial budget deficit amounting to $18 million, which has necessitated extensive layoffs and furloughs.
In addition to the work stoppage at UW-Madison, a group of employees from the Madison campus plans to visit UW-Oshkosh to join in a collective march alongside the dedicated workers there.
This coordinated effort aims to highlight the serious financial issues faced by UW-Oshkosh while fostering a spirit of unity and support among the University of Wisconsin community.
