A new homeless day center has been approved in the City of Sheboygan.
Last week, the Plan Commission approved the permits submitted by Sheboygan Area Pay It Forward to use a building in the 1200 block of Erie Avenue as a day center for people experiencing homelessness.
The goal would be to provide a sober environment where struggling individuals will be able to receive help with their career and employment situations, as well as goal setting, and a warm place to escape the harsh Wisconsin winters.
The space will be open from 7:00 to 7:00 p.m. seven days a week beginning on November 1st and running through April 20th and 7:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays between May 1st and October 31st.
