In an incident of reckless driving early yesterday morning, a Milwaukee Police officer sustained injuries and is now in the process of recovery.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD), the collision occurred in the vicinity of 35th Street and Meineke Avenue.
Law enforcement officials report that the MPD squad car was proceeding along Meineke Avenue when another vehicle disregarded a stop sign and collided with the officer’s vehicle.
Milwaukee Police further detail that the 41-year-old officer was transported to the hospital, where medical professionals classified the injuries as serious but not life-threatening.
Subsequently, the occupants of the other vehicle, both the driver and passenger, fled the scene after the collision.
