The 16-year-old Green Bay girl who is accused of killing a 17-year-old boy in a reckless driving crash is looking to get out of adult jail and adult court.
The attorney for Sienna Pecore claims that the teen is being held in adult jail with the general population and that her being there is a violation of federal law.
Pecore’s attorney says that her client was initially held in a youthful offender POD at the Brown County Jail, but within three weeks had been moved into the adult section.
As far as the debate about which court she should be tried in, a judge will be making that decision at a future court hearing.
Pecore is facing charges of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, Hit and Run Involving Death, Taking and Driving a Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, and two counts of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety after she was allegedly driving at speeds over 100 miles per hour before crashing on West Mason Street last October.
As a result of the crash, 17-year-old Cruz Beltran passed away.
Pecore is due back in court for a status hearing on November 1st.
