In Chippewa Falls, a registered sex offender is once again in police custody following an incident on Friday when he severed his ankle bracelet.
Law enforcement responded promptly to an apartment complex located on Pearl Street after receiving reports that Todd Leary had cut off his ankle monitoring device on Friday afternoon.
Notably, these apartments are in close proximity to St. Charles Borromeo schools, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures by notifying Chippewa Falls Public Schools.
After a thorough search, the police located Leary.
Subsequently, it was determined that there was no indication of him attempting to approach the schools.
He has since been apprehended and is now incarcerated once more.
