Parker Dean Vogt, age 19, a resident of Manitowoc, was peacefully embraced by the loving arms of Jesus after a hard fought battle with cancer. He entered his eternal home on Tuesday morning, September 19, 2023, at his residence with his parents by his side.
Parker was born on June 17, 2004, in Manitowoc to Craig and Angela (Hornes) Vogt. He was baptized on June 18, 2004, and confirmed at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Newtonburg, on May 20, 2018. After graduating from Manitowoc Lutheran High School with the class of 2022, Parker continued his education by attending Lakeshore Technical College where he was pursuing a degree in HVAC. While he was going to school, he worked at Festival Foods and LibertyLand Dairy. Parker loved playing football and basketball in high school. He loved sharing his passion for the sport by being an assistant coach for his grade school basketball team. Parker enjoyed camping, golfing, and playing video games. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include Parker’s parents, Craig and Angela Vogt; two siblings, Ryder and Brinley; grandmothers, Ann Hornes and Paulette Vogt; aunts and uncles: Jeff Vogt, and his special friend, Stacy Joaquin, Sheryl (Dustin) Winsor, Shelley (Dan) DeCleene, and Michelle (Shane) Evans; godson, Hudson DeCleene; his four closest friends, Casey Stanzel, Ben Lukasek, Cameron Strutz, and Jenna Gries; and also other relatives and friends. Parker was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Henry Vogt and Dean Hornes.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc, WI. Pastor Micah Martin will officiate with burial to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The visitation will continue at St. John’s Ev. Parker’s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the Oncologists and all of the staff at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, and the hospice nurses at Compassus – especially Tabitha and Katelyn, for all the care and compassion they provided.
