A 25-year-old man has been sentenced in a child enticement case from 2021.
Matthew R. Dice of Union Town Ohio was previously found guilty due to a no-contest plea on charges of Interfering with Child Custody and Misdemeanor Criminal Trespass to a Dwelling and has been placed on probation for two years by Judge Robert Dewayne.
Additionally, a charge of Child Enticement, Sexual Contact was dismissed but read into the record.
Dice was arrested in February of 2021 after a homeowner in the Town of Eaton reported a vehicle was stuck in his driveway.
When the homeowner approached the vehicle, a 12-year-old Valders girl fled the scene.
After an investigation, it was determined that Dice met the girl online and picked her up with the intention of taking her back to Ohio.
Dice was ordered to have no contact with the victim, and have no online activity unless approved by his probation agent.
