A hoarding case in the Appleton area resulted in 124 cats being surrendered to the Fox Valley Humane Association.
Local police asked the organization for help with the case, indicating that there were about 50 cats in the residence, but it ended up being nearly two and a half times that number.
The reason for the low estimate was that the felines were hiding throughout the disorganized home.
The animal shelter in Appleton says that this is the largest hoarding incident in recent memory, and the sudden influx of cats is going to cost them thousands to maintain.
