An Oshkosh man is facing charges after his 2-month-old child was treated at a local hospital.
The child was taken to the hospital earlier this month where he was said to have suffered from substantial bruising all over his body and had a brain bleed.
The injuries were so severe, the infant had to be flown to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, leading to social workers informing police.
The boy’s father, Michael Ormond, reportedly admitted to investigators that he had been having thoughts about hurting the child ever since the boy was brought home from the hospital.
He also admitted to pinching his toes and squeezing his legs, arms, neck, and face, all on the day after the boy was brought home after spending a month and a half in the NICU due to being born two months prematurely.
Ormond also said that hurting the baby gave him a feeling similar to a “runner’s high.”
He has been charged with two counts of Child Abuse, one with the tag of Intentionally Causing Harm, a class H felony, and the other with Intentionally Causing Great Bodily Harm, a class C felony.
