The lives of two young women were cut short over the weekend after a two-vehicle head-on collision in rural Manitowoc County.
According to Sheriff Dan Hartwig, a 21-year-old Menasha woman was traveling west on Highway 10 near Highway G in the Town of Cato at around 5:30 Sunday morning when she crossed over the centerline.
Her vehicle then struck a car being driven by a 17-year-old Reedsville girl head-on.
The Menasha woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Reedsville teen was later pronounced dead at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.
The Reedsville teen was a student at Reedsville High School, which will have additional grief counselors on hand all week long.
The names of the individuals were not released as of this morning as the crash remains under investigation.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting the crash reconstruction while 12 other agencies assisted in the response.
