The man deemed responsible for the death of a Neenah man in Calumet County 40 years ago was found not guilty of obstruction.
The jury was unanimous in their decision in favor of John Andrews. The charge was brought up on Andrews after the location of Starkie Swenson’s body in a Calumet County park in 2021.
Prosecutors claimed Andrews was obstructing the investigation by not revealing the location of Swenson’s remains following his death in 1983.
The defense claimed the case was nearing double jeopardy, as Andrews was previously convicted in Swenson’s death and served time in prison, however, the prosecution says this was about his actions in 2021.
