A $5,000 check was donated by Comcast/Xfinity to the Boys and Girls Club of Manitowoc County during their ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.
Company representatives say it’s their responsibility and their privilege to give back to the community that invests in them.
Callie Brice with the Manitowoc Boys and Girls Club says the money will go toward helping families with kids who don’t have internet.
“We know that the kids that we have at the club don’t have access (to the internet) to finish schoolwork or to work ahead in school,” she says. So, being able to provide them with that access is very important to both us and to their families.”
Xfinity recently reopened its store on Washington Street after it was remodeled to be more up to date with what they offer customers.
