A connection has been established between the individual implicated in the harrowing assault on a UW-Madison student and the city of Milwaukee.
Authorities have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Brandon Thompson, a former graduate of UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Criminal Justice Administration.
According to the Madison Police Department, Thompson stands as the sole suspect in the disturbing incident that transpired last Sunday, involving the rape and assault of a female UW student in her twenties.
Investigators managed to link Thompson to the case through surveillance footage obtained from a routine traffic stop and neighborhood security cameras.
Law enforcement officials in Madison have clarified that there is no known connection between Thompson and the victim.
However, they allege that he was observed following the victim prior to the attack.
