After seeing the outpouring of love and support, the owner of Rowleys Bay Resort has announced that the popular business will be rebuilt.
Nearly the entire structure in Ellison Bay, near the northern tip of the Door County peninsula, was destroyed in a fire that began in the basement Tuesday afternoon.
The owner of the resort, which has been family-owned since 1970, posted on Facebook that “Part of the lodge destroyed by the fire included staff housing. There are currently eight employees who were living in the lodge and lost everything they owned in the fire, and several others who have been displaced.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist those employees, which can be found by going to GoFundMe.com and searching “Rowleys Bay Resort”.
Within 14 hours of opening it up, the fundraiser collected nearly $9,500 out of its $25,000 goal.
