A Green Bay firefighter and a citizen were hospitalized following a Tuesday evening apartment fire.
Crews with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department were dispatched to an apartment in the 1800 block of August Street at around 8:15 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.
When they arrived, the firefighters began attacking the smoke and flames found in the basement of the structure.
Many of the residents of the 24-unit building had exited, but several on the first and second floors had to be rescued by the firefighters.
One of the residents and one of the firefighters had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The cause and cost of the fire have yet to be determined.
