Prevea and the Hospital Sisters Health System continue to try and fix their system issues, but while they do, hospital leaders are warning of a scam that has stemmed from it.
Some customers have been receiving emails, texts, and phone calls from someone claiming to be an HSHS representative asking for payment.
While that normally wouldn’t be any cause for alarm, the fact of the matter is, Prevea and HSHS aren’t collecting credit or debit card payments right now.
If you are required or would like to request a payment, the Prevea website says they are accepting cash and checks.
The HSHS and Prevea system went down on August 27th, and crews have been working to fix the issue ever since.
A statement on the Prevea website states, “We greatly appreciate your patience as we work to fully restore our systems as quickly as possible. Patient safety and quality remain our top priorities.”
