One of the most beautiful events each year is the annual Kites Near Lake Michigan.
While it has traditionally been held at Nashotah Beach in Two Rivers, over the past few years it has been happening at Two Rivers High School.
The founder of the event and former owner of Unique Flying Objects, Chow Chung, told us in 2020 that the change of venue was due to high Lake Michigan water levels and very little beach.
That being said, the event has been successful each year it has been at the high school, and this year promises to be no different.
Hundreds of kite enthusiasts are expected to be on hand from 11:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (September 2nd and 3rd) showing off their beautiful aerial creations for the 18th annual iteration of the event.
Proceeds from the event go to support local non-profit service clubs.
