A request for a reduction in bail has been denied for a man accused of huffing and crashing his car into a Verizon store in Fond du Lac.
20-year-old Benjamin Ayer was before a judge Monday afternoon looking to have his bail lowered from $300,000 to only $10,000.
His defense team believed that amount was more consistent with that type of offense and noted that Ayer had no previous convictions.
That request was denied.
The incident occurred back in late April when police say Ayer huffed air duster before getting behind the wheel and crashing through the glass showroom of the store on Rolling Meadows Drive.
The crash resulted in numerous injuries, including life-threatening injuries to a woman who had been pinned under Ayer’s car.
Ayer is due back in court on October 3rd.
