Due to a surge in coronavirus cases, Dane County has taken the decision to suspend all jail visits.
The county’s sheriff’s office announced yesterday that out of over 820 inmates, 49 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.
As a precautionary measure, those affected are being segregated within designated cell blocks within the City-County Building and other designated spaces in the Public Safety Building.
While jail staff will be provided with face masks, it is mandatory for attorneys conducting meetings with their clients within the jail premises to wear masks for added safety.
