The attorney for Steven Avery continues to push for a new trial, although her latest attempt was once again denied.
Avery is currently serving a life sentence in the Fox Lake Correctional Institution for the 2005 killing of Teresa Halbach.
Attorney Kathleen Zellner’s motion argued that new evidence and witness testimonies prove Avery’s innocence.
She points to a third-party suspect, however no charges have been against this person who was named as a key witness in the initial case.
On the other side of the case, Brendan Dassey’s attorneys are going right to the top, and asking Governor Tony Evers for help.
Dassey was also convicted in the killing, although many have questioned his involvement.
His defense team is asking Governor Evers to consider clemency or early release, but no statement has been made by the Governor.
