
The initial instance of West Nile Virus infection in Wisconsin for the year 2023 has been identified in an individual from Dane County, according to the state’s Department of Health Services.
The confirmation of this case was announced on Friday.
Specific details regarding the person’s residence or the source of their West Nile contraction have not been disclosed.
Apart from the situation in Dane County, the Department of Health Services has reported additional positive cases linked to the virus.
These include cases involving horses located in Dunn and Clark counties, along with mosquito pools identified in Milwaukee and Lafayette counties.
