Wells Fargo has announced the closure of 37 branches around the country, including the 636 Wisconsin Avenue branch in downtown Sheboygan.
The other two Sheboygan locations will remain open: the North Branch at 2800 Calumet Drive and the South Branch at 1251 Wilson Avenue.
According to an article in the Daily Mail, these closures are among numerous others from other banking establishments such as Chase, Bank of America, Capital One, and PNC.
The exact reason for the closures was not explicitly stated in the article, but it did note that 2021 saw a historic high in the number of banks shuttering their doors.
Nearly 3,000 financial establishments closed up shop, a trend the S&P Global Market Intelligence data expects to continue.
The Manitowoc and Fond du Lac Wells Fargo locations were not affected.
