Diane M. (Nitka) Kitzerow, age 84, a former Manitowoc resident and currently a resident of Scandinavian Assisted Living in Denmark, passed away Friday afternoon, August 4, 2023.
The former Diane Nitka was born February 2, 1939, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Emily (Mushel) Nitka. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1957. On May 7, 1966, she married her beloved husband Milton E. Kitzerow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2020. Diane was employed in the office at MIRRO Aluminum Company prior to the birth of her oldest child. Following the birth of her children she was a Homemaker and stay at home mom. Diane’s passion was gardening with her husband, and she took great pride in her rose beds. She enjoyed bird watching, feeding cardinals, finches, and chickadees. Diane’s joy in life was raising her children and later in life spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Susan (Dan) Siebert, Maribel; one son and daughter-in-law: David (Fang) Kitzerow, Chicago, IL; three grandchildren: Morgan and Alex Siebert, Andrew Kitzerow; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Robert (Julie) Stedl, Menchalville; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Emily Nitka; her husband: Milton E. Kitzerow; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Marie Kitzerow-Stedl-Pontzlaff and Benjamin Kitzerow; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Francis) Hein and William Stedl; and one nephew: Gene (Joan) Hein.
Cremation has taken place at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and private family services were held at the Pfeffer Funeral Home. Entombment of Diane’s cremated remains was at the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
