
The Green Bay Rockers took game one of their Sub-Divisional Playoff series against the Madison Mallards 8-4 in Madison.
The Mallards struck first, plating a pair of runs in the 1st inning, but the Rockers would strike back with two runs of their own in the 3rd.
The Rockers would add 3 in the 6th, and 3 more over the final two frames, and held on to secure the win.
Starter Brett Sanchez would get the win, allowing 2 runs over 6 and one-third innings.
At the plate, leadoff hitter Kendal Ewell had a night to remember, going 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and a run scored, while Nasinoa Cardinez went 2-4 and drove in a run and Sam Polk drove in a pair on his lone hit of the day.
Game two of the series will be in Green Bay tonight with Maddox Long slated to take on Davis Welch on the mound.
First pitch at Capital Credit Union Park is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
