A 32-year-old Oconto County woman is facing charges after she allegedly abused children and strangled a sheriff’s deputy.
The investigation into Shannon Tourtillott began when a child was taken to the emergency room of a Green Bay hospital with multiple injuries.
The mother of the child told police that her children had been with their father, who told police that his girlfriend, Tourtillott claimed the child fell off a swing.
However, the girl, whose age was not given, told authorities that Tourtillott would hit her and her two siblings, who are 6 and 8 years old.
When questioned by police, Tourtillott admitted that the girl had actually fallen out of a moving car because the car seat wasn’t buckled in properly.
While being transported by a sheriff’s deputy, she was somehow able to unbuckle her seatbelt and begin strangling the deputy with her handcuffs.
Tourtillott then attempted to flee but was found shortly after and detained.
Tourtillott is facing 14 charges including Physical Abuse of a Child, Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, and Attempting to Escape.
