As discussions unfold around the funding of American Family Field, Milwaukee County’s county executive has presented a fresh proposal, while encountering resistance from other county leaders.
County Executive David Crowley has reached out to Republican legislators, seeking a degree of flexibility in allocating some of the recently acquired sales tax revenue towards the ballpark’s financial requirements.
However, County Supervisor Peter Burgelis firmly maintains that any financial support for the stadium should originate from the state.
Supervisor Sheldon Wasserman has gone a step further by suggesting a revival of the five county sales tax as a viable means to generate funds for the necessary repairs and maintenance that Am Fam Field demands.
The Milwaukee Brewers organization has emphasized that a substantial investment of at least $400 million is indispensable for the stadium’s revitalization.
