A former teacher at Roncalli Middle School has been sentenced after it was learned that he took photos of underage students in his classroom.
37-year-old Gregory Melin was before Manitowoc County Judge Jerylin Dietz yesterday where he was found guilty due to no-contest pleas on charges of Attempting to Capture an Inappropriate Intimate Representation of a Minor, and two counts of Invasion of Privacy.
Six counts of disorderly conduct were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Dietz sentenced Melin to spend 30 more nights in jail followed by two years on probation, and deferred judgment on the felony counts if he follows the rules of his probation.
Melin was arrested in June of last year after he was caught taking photos of young girls between the ages of 14 and 19 at a beach in Sheboygan.
A search of his phone then revealed photos he took in his classroom at Roncalli Middle School.
