
In order to address its substantial budget deficit, UW-Oshkosh has made the decision to lay off 200 employees.
The university recently announced its intention to eliminate around 200 positions, primarily non-faculty roles, and also implement furloughs for certain individuals.
Despite being the third-largest campus in Wisconsin, UW-Oshkosh has experienced a decline in enrollment over the past few years.
The total number of students on campus last year was just slightly over 13,000, reflecting a decrease of 700 from the previous year.
Financial challenges within the UW system are not unprecedented.
The president of the UW system previously indicated that the majority of campuses are expected to operate at a financial loss by the conclusion of the upcoming year.
