
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ pitching staff gave up 14 hits in their 9-2 loss to the South Bend Cubs Last night.
The Cubs scored early and often, plating two runs in the first three innings and one in the 4th.
The Rattlers’ pitchers finally stopped the bleeding in the 5th, going scoreless for 3 innings, before giving up two more in the bottom of the 8th.
Nate Peterson suffered the loss, allowing 8 hits and 6 runs through 2 and two-thirds innings, while Miguel Guerrero only allowed 4 hits and 1 run through 3 and one-third innings.
Justin King closed out the evening in the 7th and 8th, giving up a pair of runs and hits. At the plate, the Rattler batters were struck out 10 times and only picked up 3 hits.
Wisconsin will look to bounce back tonight in game two of their series in South Bend Indiana.
Cameron Wagoner will get the start with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch at Four Winds Field.
