Sandra “Sandy” Faye Niespodziany, 81, of Manitowoc passed away on Sunday July 16, 2023 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Sandy was born on October 7, 1941 to the late Marvin and Pauline (Burdick) Graycarek. She was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. On October 13, 1962 she married Tom Niespodziany. Sandy worked as an Associate Accountant for Formrite Companies in Two Rivers before she retired in 2013.
Sandy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was an avid Packer fan and was at the Ice Bowl in 1967. Over the years, Sandy was involved with selling Christmas Around the World. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, shopping, catering, sharing the joy of music with others, including her sisters and cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter, LuElla.
Sandy is survived by two daughters: Heidi (Joe) Holschbach and Kimberlee (special friend; T.J. Monroe) Niespodziany; one granddaughter: LuElla Faye Monroe; the father of her children: Tom (fiancé Robin Wood) Niespodziany; four sisters: Bonnie Jonas, Mishicot, Alana Matheys, Woodbury, MN, Jean Lyons, Pewaukee, Teri (Tom) Korinek, Reedsville; brother-in-law: Paul (Donna Evans) Niespodziany, Coeur d’ Alene, ID; step-grandchildren; Amy Hanson, Manitowoc, and Joe Holschbach, Austin, TX. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents: Marvin and Pauline Graycarek; sister: Yvonne (Lenny) Henrickson; an infant brother: Steven John Graycarek; brothers-in-law: Fritz Jonas and Ray Matheys; and sister-in-law: Deanna (Deacon Robert) Drobka.
A memorial service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street, at 6:00 pm, with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
