Wisconsin residents can rest assured as a recent report reveals that an overwhelming majority of the state’s water systems are safe to drink.
Released by the Department of Natural Resources on Friday, the report indicates that over 99 percent of water systems in Wisconsin have successfully met all health standards.
These systems have passed rigorous tests for various contaminants, including lead, nitrates, bacteria, and other harmful chemicals.
While the report brings positive news about the safety of Wisconsin’s drinking water, it does not include information on PFAS chemicals.
Last year, there were no official tests conducted specifically for PFAS chemicals.
However, the Department of Natural Resources acknowledges the significance of assessing PFAS contamination and assures that changes have been implemented.
A comprehensive report on PFAS levels in Wisconsin’s water systems will be available next year.
