Ronald “Ronnie” J. Miller, age 80, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 13, 1942 in Manitowoc, son of the late Ralph and Leona (Wollersheim) Miller. Ronnie attended Lincoln High School and enlisted in the United States Army. On September 25, 1965 he married Sandra “Sandy” Wagner at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Ronnie was a man of many talents and held various jobs over the years. In his younger years, he owned and operated his own dump truck. In later years, he worked as an electrician and moonlighted as a maintenance man at his wife’s restaurant. He was knowledgeable and skilled in many different things and was always there to help as the family handyman. Ronnie was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. Above all, he loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ronnie is survived by his wife: Sandy Miller, Manitowoc; two sons: Jeff (Mary) Miller, Green Bay, and Jon (Kelly) Miller, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Paydon Miller (Allison Kimble), Washington D.C., Stephanie (Chris) Weber, Plymouth, Sam Miller, Manitowoc, and McKenzie (Abe) Bonneville, Manitowoc; five great-grandchildren: Sydney, Easton, Campbell, and Kade Weber, and Jack Miller; one sister: Diane (Richard) Schipper, Cato; sister-in-law: Laverne Miller, Las Vegas; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Brenda (Chuck) Pribek, Francis Creek, Vickey (John) Marquardt, Manitowoc, Marshall Wagner, Francis Creek, and Willy Funk, Tisch Mills. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter: Delaney Rose Weber; two brothers: Jerome Miller and Dennis Miller; one sister-in-law: Cindy Funk; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: John “Red” and Bertha Wagner.
Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 88 of Manitowoc. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
