Motorists around the Great Lakes area are being advised to slow down on the road as a part of Speed Awareness Day today (July 26th).
Law enforcement entities in Wisconsin, including the Manitowoc Police Department and the State Patrol, are joining forces with others in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio to remind people of the dangers of driving too fast.
According to the Manitowoc Police Department, “speeding continues to be one of the leading contributory causes of all types of crashes.”
Today’s focus on speed reduction is intended to help reduce crashes, save lives, and prevent injuries.
