The Green Bay Rockers were able to score six runs in the final three innings last night (July 20th) to secure a win on the road against the Kokomo Jackrabbits.
Starting Pitch Brett Sanchez struggled early, giving up three runs in the first two innings, but he settled down in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Then, in the 6th, he gave up two more runs before Tyler Horvath came in to close out the contest. Green Bay was able to plate runs in the 2nd and 5th innings but trailed 5-2 entering the 7th.
A Max Mims one-out, three-run bomb in the 7th would knot it all up, and a wild pitch in the 8th would give the Rockers the game-winning run.
They would add two insurance runs in the 9th, and Horvath would strike out the final two batters to secure the win.
Jack Holman had a night to remember at the plate, going 4-5, and accounting for 4 RBI, while Jayson Jones went 2-4, both of which were doubles.
The Rockers are back at it again tonight, this time in Madison.
Kyle Stoddard will take on the Mallards’ Will Simmons in a 6:05 p.m. first pitch from Warner Park.
