The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers completed a comeback victory last night in Dayton Ohio, Toppling the Dragon 9-8.
The Appleton-based ball club trailed 3-0 entering the 4th inning, but a small-ball induced five-run 4th put the Rattlers on top.
The Dragons would continue to chip away at the Rattlers’ pitching staff, plating one run in the 4th, and two each in the 5th and 6th innings.
The Rattlers would also score a run in the 6th but trailed 6-8 entering the top of the 9th.
Darrien Miller would step up to the plate first for the Rattlers and blasted a solo shot to right field, after which Jose Acosta and Robert Moore would drive in runs to give the Rattlers the game-winning runs.
Tanner Shears would earn his 4th save of the season, allowing just one hit and striking out one batter in the final frame.
The Rattlers improve to 36-47 as they get ready for game two at Day Air Ballpark tonight.
Cameron Wagoner will face off against Chris McElvain in a 7:05 p.m. start.
