A proposal has emerged at the Wisconsin Capitol suggesting the implementation of watermarks on the state’s absentee ballots.
State Representative Scott Allen, hailing from Waukesha, highlighted the need for enhanced security measures for Wisconsin’s absentee ballots.
While acknowledging their convenience, Allen expressed concerns regarding potential risks to the state’s election integrity.
To address this issue, Allen suggested the inclusion of watermarks on every ballot, drawing a parallel with the watermarking practice employed by the treasury to protect dollar bills from counterfeiting and replication.
The objective behind this proposal is to increase the difficulty of unauthorized copying or forging of absentee ballots.
