Not bad for someone who just turned 12 last week.
Braylon Jensen, who is a member of the Manitowoc inline speedskating team, is now officially the second-best elementary boys inline speed skater in the entire nation.
Despite a fall in the 700-meter final and not placing in the event, Braylon’s previous finishes earned him that distinction at the USA Roller Sports Speed Skating National Championships.
Zakia Kalista was unable to advance out of her 1500 meter final, but Coach Carly Valdez tells us both skaters and Owen Garcia, who also made the trip to Lincoln Nebraska, “earned a well-deserved month off to enjoy summer”.
The entire team will return to practice in August, and will also hold a clinic for those interested in potentially joining the team.
Details will be posted on the Rollaire Skate Center Facebook page in the following weeks.
