The Green Bay Rockers lost twice yesterday in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rafter won the opener 10-9, and again in the nightcap 3-1.
In game one, the Rafters used a 5 run 4th and a 3 run 6th inning to help build a 10-3 lead entering the 8th inning.
Mateo Matthews drove in a pair and Zane Zielinski added a sac fly in the 8th, and in the 9th, a wild pitch brought home a run, and Matthews again drove in a pair to get within one run.
However, the comeback was cut short by two consecutive strikeouts.
In game two, the Rafters scored twice in the 4th inning off of Cooper Dossett and one more in the 5th off of Jacob Faulkner, and the Rattler batters simply couldn’t recapture the magic from game one.
Green Bay is back at it tonight, this time in from of a home crowd.
Brett Sanchez is slated to square off against the Madison Mallards’ Tommy Meyer at Capital Credit Union Park, with a first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
