According to Wisconsin business owners, the demand for workers remains high, although some businesses anticipate reducing their workforce.
The recent survey conducted by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) reveals that slightly less than half of the state’s business owners plan to hire new employees within the next six months.
This percentage is significantly lower compared to last year’s 68% and the 79% reported two years ago.
Kurt Bauer, representing WMC, suggests that the decline in hiring activity could be indicative of a broader economic slowdown in the state.
The survey also indicates that only 39% of business owners perceive Wisconsin’s economy as robust, while a mere 16% hold the same view regarding the national economy.
