A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday (July 11th) after he attempted to meet up with a teenager for sex.
Officers met with the victim just after 7:00 p.m. and told them that she had sent the 23-year-old man a picture of herself in a bathing suit on Snapchat.
She then noted she met up with the man, who supplied her and a friend with THC dabs which are the waxy extract from marijuana.
The victim told the officers that she heard the suspect and her friend having sex in the back seat and that he asked her to join.
It is not clear the age of the other individual.
The victim then told the officers that the man was trying to meet up with her again that day for sex and that they were to meet on the steps to the JFK Fieldhouse at Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
Investigators set up a sting operation, where an undercover officer was dressed in plain clothes, and the suspect arrived.
He quickly left when he saw a police squad car, but he was pulled over and arrested in the 900 block of Green Street.
The suspect claimed that the other individual was 18 and that he believed the victim was also 18, however in a message, she had stated that she was in fact 16.
The man has been charged with Child Enticement and Possession of THC.
