A man is in custody following a five-hour standoff with police in Kaukauna.
The incident began at around 10:30 Tuesday morning at the Fox Shores Apartments in the 400 block of Fox Shores Drive.
Officers with the Kaukauna Police Department were initially responding to what was termed a domestic situation, but the suspect refused to leave the apartment.
The Outagamie County Response Team was called in to assist but for the next several hours, the unidentified man remained inside.
After several hours of communicating back and forth, the man finally exited and was taken into custody without further incident.
The Kaukauna Police Department issued a statement, thanking “the residents of this area for their patience and understanding while we worked through this situation.”
