It was a night to forget for the Green Bay Rockers Monday night as they fell to the Wausau Woodchucks 18-7.
The Rockers’ pitching staff struggled from the onset, as Bryce Crabb gave up 5 runs on six hits through the first one and two-thirds innings.
Then, Jake Liberta gave up 6 more runs on 5 hits through the next full inning, and Ty McInnes gave up 7 runs on 6 hits in the next full inning.
Michah Berens was able to stop the bleeding, going three innings without a run, but the game was then called on a count of rain.
The Rockers gave up a total of 21 hits on the night, however, the offense wasn’t exactly bad.
Kendal Ewell went 2-3 at the plate and knocked in a pair of runs, while Zane Zielinski and AJ Anzai also pounded out 2 hits, and Cuyler Zukowski batted in a pair.
The Rockers will look to bounce back quickly in game two in Wausau tonight.
Grayson Walker will take the mound at 6:35 p.m.
